The end of June is fast approaching and so are all a whole slew of shows! In just a few weeks I will be singing in four performances with Opera Naples, three of which are different! Woah, crazy! 

First, on June 22 I will be singing a few arias at Opera Naples and Naples Art Association showcase.
Then on June 27 we have a scenes show with Opera Naples and on June 29 & 30 is Ruddigore!

We've finally reached the end! Marissa and I ended the recital with the Evening Prayed from Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel."

Don't panic! It's just the title of the song! (Which conveniently is the song that did exactly the opposite!) 

Multi-purpose post activate!

Purpose 1: I obviously sang this on the recital. It's an aria from Gilbert and Sullivan's The Grand Duke. You know, the one nobody has heard of unless you're a hardcore G&S fan like myself. That being said, I simply could not do a recital without singing something G&S so I decided to go with the most obscure, yet very lovely aria I could find!

Purpose 2: Two weeks ago I auditioned for a show with Opera Naples. Ruddigore by Gilbert and Sullivan. I sang this song for the audition only to find out after the fact that it is our director's favorite G&S song! I sang my heart out in that audition and I can now officially announce that I will be playing Rose Maybud (aka the soprano)! The performances will be on the last weekend of June and all the information is up on my "schedule" page for your convenience. 

The first time I saw this show I knew I had to be in it one day and I am so excited and honored to be a part of this production and I hope to see lots of smiling faces in the audience!

As I mentioned before, I was competing in Boston this past weekend at the Classical Singer convention. It was quite a trip! I made it to the semifinals in the competition (yay!) and got some great comments but I also had the opportunity to connect with old friends and meet some new ones! I chatted with lots of grad schools and professors and met a new composer friend too! (Jacob Mashak Check him out!) Exciting times, and even more exciting things to come.

I have a couple of fun updates as well as the finale to my Junior Recital that should be out pretty soon so keep an eye out!
